We stayed in Nice for two nights. Our hosts live in a little village up on a hill from Nice. Driving was little bit stressful as the streets go up and down very steep and they are formed by sharp curves with limited visibility. The view from our room was really great! Right across the window was a peak of a hill with houses and ruins of a fortress.
We wanted to take a free city tour but unfortunately our guide never showed up. Therefore, we explored Nice on our own. I think the most impressive sights we noticed were the beach and promenade 'Promenade des Anglais' and park with a spacious fountain. The fountain was filled with many, many kids at all times. People were running through it and playing with the water and steam. During the day we managed to connect to internet and work in a very nice park near the beach. Later in the evening we walked up a hill to see the city from the top and visit a relatively big waterfall that could be seen from the city center, down the hill.
When we arrived at home in the very evening, we took the car to go up another hill. From there we took some night pictures of the city. The view was really impressive!
