We were not lucky with the weather on the first day so we stayed home and worked. In the evening we went for aperativo and as the rain stopped, we had a really beautiful view and a double rainbow :)
Aperativo is a specific Italian custom. After 6pm you would go with friends to aperativo place, buy a drink for 10 euros and get 'all you can eat' buffet to it. We used this opportunity both nights we stayed there, as it's so much cheaper than food from a restaurant. You really have to observe good aperativo places. The first night it wasn't very good and there was only cold food. The second time we got a really nice meal with various possibilities to choose from.
In Milan we also took a city tour after which we found a place in the park to work again. One quite annoying thing about Italy and France is that whenever we're hungry and ready for lunch, the restaurants are closed. That usually happens between 2pm or 3pm until 18pm or 19pm.
In the morning we had to continue our road to Nice, we managed to wake up early and visit the dome of Milan (duomo di Milano). It was better than I expected! The dome is very beautiful from inside but we had even more spectacular view when we went to the terraces. Dome is still in the process of building after 600 years. It's the biggest marble building in Europe. The marble is brought from a town near Milan. In the beginning of its building, it took very long to transport marble to the construction site and this fact slowed down the work a great deal.
